Below are some of the comments that we have received from our customers this year. Happy customers photos can be seen on the photo gallery page.
Hiya Pat & Deb
Thanks for your newsletter and please keep it going.
We check your site on a regular basis and are pleased to read the progress and continuation of your 'adventure'
You will not remember us but we took a couple of rescue lovelies from you 2 years ago. They are still going strong...no eggs now....but what the hell they are part of our lives and gives us much fun and enjoyment.
Will you be sourcing 'rescue girls' this year ? If so we would like 2 or 3. If not we are interested in the hybrids. Pinky and Perky (apologies to your pigs) cannot sadly last for ever and we would like to have a smooth transition for our girls. We free range in the proper sense.....freedom at dawn and bedtime at dusk......they have complete access to our garden at all times and are truly part of the family even our German Shepard has decided that discretion is the better part of valour....in other words they bully her!!!
Happy New Year to you both and all your 'charges' .....without being too sentimental you are possibly a 'beacon' in these dark and commercially driven times.

Dear Pat & Deb
Thanks for the newsletter. Just to let you know that following your Introduction to Chickens course at the end of last year, we now have 5 feathered friends strutting around in the garden. Henrietta the hybrid who we got from you is an egg laying machine, laying at least 5 and usually 6 eggs a week throughout the winter. They are absolutely delicious and taste so much beter than shop bought ones.
We really appreciate your advice and have now become truly chicken mad!
Even our son Tom ( who wouldn't pick up a chicken on the day of the course ) now loves them, especially his own chicken, Tikka, and regularly brings her into the house for a cuddle.

I just wanted to thank you so much for the advice regarding how to syringe worm George and Mildred. It worked a treat! They were so good! We all managed to keep very calm and you were right it doesn’t hurt at all when you put your finger in their beaks! Best of all, they forgave us straight away and we are all still best of friends. Thank goodness for that, as I was so worried they wouldn’t ever let me near them again! I spent many hours trawling through the internet trying to find out how to do it, I should have rung you in the first place!
hi its mick and nicky we picked our hens up from you on wednesday just to let you know that phillis, effel.pearl and gerty have settled in fine thank you for all your help and advice
Hi Pat and Debbie,
Here are some pics of George and Mildred. I think you will agree that they seem settled in their new surroundings. I also hope you will feel that they have lovely surroundings in which to live. I have bought them a sand pit and filled it with water but so far they have only had a drink from it! You will notice in the pics that there is an old pond which we may well re build so the geese can use that to swim in.
We are very pleased with them and they are already following me around, they also follow the hens around but I am not so sure the hens are very impressed with that at all as they are unsure if the geese are friend or foe! Still the geese just keep on following the hens so I am sure the hens will in time realise that they are just being friendly and want to be with them.
If you ever want to visit to see them you are always welcome.
"Hello Pat and Deb
I thought I’d update you on Kate and William (names chosen by my Kids)… they are feeding well and had their first 2 minute swim this morning in the sink.. followed by a warmed towel to help dry them. They seemed to really enjoy the short time they spent in the sink!
They are the most beautiful goslings ever and I would like to thank you for all your after care service. I have waited so long to have a pair of Giant Dewlaps and of course I was a nervous Mum as they are so special. However you didn’t mind however many phone calls I made and was always reassuring. I cannot thank you enough.
They are perhaps a little spoilt with plenty of cuddles (even from my 15 year old twins!!) throughout the day, fresh grass served to them within minutes of being cut and their water changed frequently as they do make a little mess. They are here in my office in their brood cage under the heat lamp watching me work.
I have been and shall continue to sing your praises, I have been caught out in the past by unscrupulous so called breeders, so it was so lovely to meet like minded people who really care about their animals.
I shall be back for another pair if you still have some available, I just want a little time to spoil Kate and William as they are so special.
I shall send photos soon
Thank you once again for the beautiful babies and your help and support
"Thank you very much for the cochins; They will certainly be free range and there is a very handsome husband waiting in the wings.
I purchased some baby chicks and adult chickens from you recently – have really settled in well and are already laying!" Karen
"Hi Debbie and Pat,
Thank you very much for the fantastic experience. Everyone on really enjoyed it and the children were all so enthusastic about the eggs hatching and the chicks.
Below is a few things that our school would like to say...
This wonderful experience was well received by all staff and children. The whole experience was a fabulous way to show and talk about living things in the world around us.
Having a hands on experience has allowed all children to have the experience of growth, life, love and affection.
Our school atmopshere showed a change over the 3 weeks that we had the eggs and then the chicks. The children seemed to have more enthusiasum for learning, the teachers were excited to see that the children wanted; to learn more about them and what we have to do to look after them, do writing about the life cycle of the egg to a chick and draw or paint pictures. Our Parents even got excited and wanted to see what their children were getting excited about. Our Govereners were in school on the day that the chicks hatched and have explained that "it is such a wonderful, unique and forfilling experience for us all".
Quotes from Badger Class Children -
"They are fluffy"
"They are making a noise...you have to be quiet...listen...if we are too loud we won't be able to hear them"
"I like having the chicks in school"
"Can they come back another day?"

"Debbie and Pat give the uninitated chicken keeper a comprehensive one to one instruction session that is both friendly and informative. I arrived knowing nothing and left with three beautiful hybrid birds and a good idea about how to look after them. Ark Birds and Bees is also well-stocked with all the bits and pieces you need to get started. Their birds are beautifiul, healthy and happy. Many thanks for getting me started and I will be recommending you to any friends I can persuade to start keeping chickens".

I had dinner with Terry last night and he wanted me to pass on how impressed he was with the pairs of white and blue peafowl you delivered to him last weekend.
He absolutely loves them and was really grateful for the guidance you gave him in relation to looking after them in the best way. He can't wait until they grow their tail feathers and start strutting around the garden.
From me, I would like to say thanks for working so hard to find white peafowl for me - I know it wasn't easy!! Great service, great help and I would recommend your services to anyone who wanted a similarly less conventional present.
just to let you know that the present was a success.
Ken was so enthusiastic after the first Beekeeping class. He is loving it.
"Hi, as promised, a picture of my babies I bought from you a while back. As you can see they are coming on a treat and are as good as gold and really tame. I hope you like seeing them. Best regards Hazel Ward."
"Hi Pat and Deb. Just to let you know how much we are really enjoying our new chooks from you. We had a blue, a white and a speckled. I can't believe how tame they are. They follow me all around our garden when I let them out late afternoon and dig where I am digging. I get three eggs every day and they are so yummy. If we know anyone who wants chickens, we will be sending them your way. From Key and Brian Heyward."
"Morning. Just a little note to say thankyou for the advice and we now have a healthy hen! She seems to have picked up and is now letting the others know she's back - it's hard to tell which she is in the scrum when I let them out in the morning! Many thanks for the help. Sheila."
"Hi Debbie, many thanks for getting back to me, especially as you are so tired!! from Turkey. Really excellent advice and Pandora seems much brighter today and I think enjoying all the fuss! I will save this email as you have sent me such a resource of information. Very much appreciated! Thanks again, Julia."
Hi I purchased four lovely Toulouse goslings from you earlier this year. I am pleased to be able to inform you that they are doing very well and growing very well. They are looking very fine indeed...Thankyou, best regards. Roland Horton."
"Pat, thought you might like to know that with your training and the supply of bees, I managed to harvest 64 pounds from just one hive! Not too bad for a start to the season!...Best regards. Len"
"Hi Pat and Debbie. I am happy to tell you that my hens are still doing very well and we get 6-7 eggs each day. The reason I am contacting you is that I would like to buy another 2 hens from you..Kind regards to you both. Caroline"
"Hi Pat and Debbie. Thankyou for the two fine pullets. The Rhodie settled down almost instantly and is as friendly and inquisitive as described. The Blue took a couple of nights settling in and needed putting on her roost, but last night she settled herself down. They are now wandering around the garden and soaking up the sun. Thanks for everything, Best regards Neil Pomphrey"
